There are restaurants you visit, and then there are restaurants you feel. Palazzo Preca is one of those rare places where the food, the setting, and the story behind it all come together in a way that stays with you long after the meal is over.
Nestled inside a beautifully restored 16th-century palazzo on Strait Street, in the heart of Valletta, Palazzo Preca is my restaurant, built on a lifelong love of food, hospitality, and Maltese culinary tradition.
A Building With a Story
When I first set eyes on this historic palazzo on Strait Street, I knew immediately that it was something special. The thick limestone walls, the character of the space, and the sense of history embedded in every corner. It was here that my vision for Palazzo Preca was born, and it is here that I continue to bring that vision to life every single day.
Dining at Palazzo Preca is not just about the food. It is about stepping into a piece of Maltese history and feeling at home within it.
A Family at the Heart of Everything
Palazzo Preca has always been a family restaurant. I grew up surrounded by food, guided by my parents, Stella and Charles, who instilled in me a deep respect for ingredients, tradition and the art of making people feel welcome.
That spirit is present in everything we do at Palazzo Preca, from the warmth of the welcome at the door to the care that goes into every dish that leaves the kitchen. When you dine here, you are not just a customer. You are a guest in a home that happens to serve exceptional food.

Rooted in Maltese Tradition
Our menu is a celebration of authentic Maltese cuisine, crafted with seasonal ingredients and a genuine passion for the island's rich culinary heritage. From freshly caught local fish and homemade pasta to slow-cooked meats and handcrafted desserts, every dish tells a story of the land and the sea that surrounds Malta.
One dish that holds a particularly special place on our menu is my mother Stella's signature trifle. Over the years, it has become one of the most beloved desserts at Palazzo Preca, a sweet tribute to the woman who inspired everything I do.
Valletta's Hidden Gem
Strait Street in Valletta is one of the most historic and characterful streets in Malta. Once known as the Gut, it was the beating heart of Valletta's social life for generations. Today, it is home to some of the city's most interesting restaurants and bars, and I am proud that Palazzo Preca sits among them, honouring the history of its surroundings while creating new memories for every guest who walks through our doors.
Whether you are a local looking for a special occasion restaurant or a visitor discovering Valletta for the first time, I would love to welcome you to my table.
